14th December
Fast-Boat is tucked away under her winter cover after a busy season, but if we get one of those beautiful clear calm winter days and you want to go exploring, give us a call.

8th August
Another busy month for Fast-Boat including our first trip to Ardnamurchan, Loch Sunart, and Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. We also had a memorable trip to the Shiants where thousands of puffins were still in residence, a huge basking shark was spotted off Rubha Hunish, and then we found ourselves cruising on a parallel course to a couple of minke whales. On a trip around Raasay this week we were surrounded by a dozen porpoises in Loch Arnish, which were behaving like dolphins, coming right up to the boat. Very unusual.

28th June
In the last few weeks Fast-Boat has been to Rum, Canna, Soay, Loch Scavaig, Mallaig, Rona, Raasay, Applecross to mention but a few. We've seen minke whales, dolphins, porpoises, a pilot whale, lots of seals, puffins, nesting fulmars, cormorants, razorbills, guillimots. We've threaded our way around towering sea-stacks, through rock arches and into deep dark sea-caves. The weather has been superb of late - sunny skies and flat seas - and we're looking forward to more of the same.

19th April
It's been a very busy start to the season despite the windy weather over Easter. The last week or so has been blue skies and sunshine. This afternoon Andreas and his friends from Sweden visited the derelict shark fishing station on Soay and had a short stop at Canna harbour before skimming across a sparkling flat sea at 30 knots all the way home. Wonderful.

20th March:
First charter of the season. John and Angela had a lively time between Macleod's Maidens and Lorgill while John did some Geographing. A tour of Loch Bracadale was a bit more sedate and John was very pleased with his morning's work, the results of which can be found | here |.

A steady flow of enquiries and bookings suggests that Fast-Boat is going to have a busy season. If you're planning to visit Skye this year and like the idea of exploring by sea please get in touch.

2008

9th September:
Nick, Andy, John & Jacob had a splendid day out exploring Loch Duich and Loch Hourn before stopping for lunch in the Glenelg Inn. A trip up to visit the seals at the Crowlin Islands and a pint in the pub at Plockton rounded off the experience.

22nd August:
Jo, Johnnie, Anne & Michael saw the Minch at its most benign on their trip to the Shiants. Seals and seabirds although most of the puffins have now departed.

14th August:
The Cameron family enjoyed a lively run over to Loch Skipport, North Uist and spent a couple of hours ashore. A beautiful sunny day with some exciting waves to negotiate on the western side of the Minch.

31st July:
Mairi and Tom spent an hour ashore on the Shiants before we circumnavigated the islands. Basking sharks, gannets, fulmars, kittiwakes, and tens of thousands of puffins.

21st July:
The Watkins family was delighted to spend some quiet time off Macleod's Maidens watching a large basking shark feeding around the boat.

4th July:
A glorious sunny afternoon out for the Jenkins family, picking them up from their shoreside house at Tocabhaig and whizzing around to Loch Scavaig to see the seals.

25th June:
Adrian, Emma, Penny and Neil get June's intrepid adventurers' prize. A bumpy voyage down to Soay, across to Canna for a superb lunch in the tearoom, and then a rollercoaster ride back to Loch Bracadale. Very exciting. Very wet.

8th June:
After twenty minutes of studying the cliffs below Ben Tianavaig Ian and co. were delighted to spot a sea eagle spiralling over head. Lots of seals off Fladda, a cruise around Big Harbour on Rona and then two more sea eagles off the east coast of Raasay.

25th May :
A few miles west of MacLeod's Maidens, a pod of 20 dolphins played around the boat for 15 minutes to the delight of Howard and Jenny.

11th May :
First whale of the season spotted just south of Neist Point by Jock and Morag. Lots of puffins, guillemots, razorbills, fulamrs, kittiwakes. Beautiful sunny day with flat water.
